French diecast manufacturer Verem, and subsidiary Solido, have added new versions of their successful Willys MB models to their 2001 line-up.
J-C Guerry sent scans of the Verem catalogue from France, and says, "Dans le catalogue de voitures miniatures "VEREM 2001" il y a quelques Jeeps réalisées sur base Solido."
The 1/43-scale U.S. Army MB shows up as a Military Police jeep, in a set with a motorcycle. See a full catalogue page of Verem military vehicles (140K JPEG).
There's also a new rescue version of the fire service MB (towing a boat), joining the Kaiser Jeep 2-1/2 ton tanker. (Also on CJ3B.info, see some prototype Kaiser 6x6 Fire Trucks.)
See a larger copy of the illustration above (40K JPEG). See also the full catalogue page of Verem fire service vehicles (140K JPEG).
Of course I'm glad to see the ever-popular "Follow Me" jeep still in the line-up. See more full catalogue pages of recreational vehicles and unusual military vehicles (140K JPEGs).
J-C also sent some pages from the new Solido catalogue. He says: "Voici les deux nouvelles versions de la Jeep produite par SOLIDO en 2001: Jeep militaire (série Prestige, 1/18) et Jeep pompiers (série Tonergam II, 1/43)."
The old Solido 1322 returns, as "Jeep Dévidoir" (hose reel Jeep) with a water trailer. (See earlier variations of 1322 on the Willys MB Fire Jeep Toys page.)
See also a full catalogue page of Solido fire vehicles (100K JPEG) and a page of military vehicles (200K JPEG) including several other versions of the MB.
And speaking of "les pompiers" (firefighters), the 1/18 scale MB fire Jeep which debuted last year, is joined by a new Special Air Services version (below).
Solido also continues to offer several ZJ and TJ varieties. See the rally and convertible Wranglers (40K JPEG), and a full catalogue page including Grand Cherokees and the Californian Wrangler (100K JPEG).
Merci a J-C Guerry. -- Derek Redmond
