Here's a card that some of us might have traded Willie Mays for:
Front
Steve Chabot first told me about this trading card, number 33 in the Topps "World on Wheels" series, which had a total of 180 cards. I guessed it was from 1953, when the CJ-3B was brand new, but John Burch found this copy that had "1952" pencilled on the back, so is it possible it might have appeared that early, as the first CJ-3Bs were hitting the market? Not likely, since according to the Trading Card Database this Topps series was released during 1953-55.
Back
A couple of other Jeep-related cars included in the series were:
Number 98, the Kaiser-Frazer DKF-161, better known as the Kaiser-Darrin roadster (see What Henry Kaiser Gave Up to Make Jeeps on CJ3B.info.)
Number 140, the 1953 Kaiser Deluxe (see When the CJ-3B Was New on CJ3B.info.)
Thanks to Steve and John for scanning their cards. -- Derek Redmond
