This Willys-Overland Export Corp. advertisement, apparently aimed at travel agents, was found by Bruce Agan. It encourages the agents to sell their clients on renting a Jeep Gala in any one of a number of vacation spots in Hawaii, Mexico or the Caribbean. It includes the first list I have seen of locations offering Gala rentals; it's not a very lengthy list, so this ad probably dates from 1959 or the very early 60's.
Also interesting is the fact that the ad uses the model name "Jeep Gala", referring to the export version of the Jeep Surrey, although the travel agents would have been primarily in the continental U.S.
The model illustrated on the pen holder is a cast-aluminum promotional model made for Willys by Comet, as seen in Surrey Jeep Toys.
Thanks to Bruce Agan for scanning the ad. -- Derek Redmond
